"I was sick in bed lying between my parents when I was a baby and heard this voice coming from the television. I instantly felt better. I later found out that it was RAY CHARLES on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson."
Blake Lindberg was born in Eau Claire Wisconsin. He started playing drums for fun without his parents knowledge until they heard him backing up the elementary school choir. He started playing in the school band in 8th grade and was not as advanced as most of his peers but the love was there and three years later was chosen for the Wisconsin State Honors Jazz Band drum chair. He has studied drumming with Tom Green (Kingston Trio), Gordy Knudtson (Steve Miller Band), Alan Dawson (Jazz Legends), Carmine Appice (Rod Stewart), Portinho (Paquito D'Rivera), Butch Miles (Count Basie), Ian Froman (David Liebman), and John Ramsay to name a few. Blake attended the University of Eau Claire for 2 years and studied with Ron Keezer.

In 1988 Blake headed east to Boston to attend the Berklee College of Music. He was awarded the prestigious Zildjian scholarship award and various other scholarships and graduated in 1992. From there, he played with local bands and embarked on a trip to Singapore playing 6 nights a week with a jazz quintet. After that tour he moved to New York city in 1995 and has been recording and performing regularly in clubs around New York and the east coast. He has toured/recorded around the world. Some of these countries include: Japan, Brazil, Ireland, Italy, Gilbraltar, and Spain.

Some of the artists he has worked with are: Grazyna Auguscik, Paula Cole, Phil Collins, Tom Coster, Urzula Dudziak, Dave Fiuczynski, Roy Hargrove, Teramasa Hino, Geoffrey Keezer, Bakhiti Kumalo, Dave Liebman, James Genus, John Funkhouser "FunkHouse", Sergio Brandão, and Rebecca Parris to name a few.

Currently, Blake is involved with: Poetic Liesense, the Dan Stein Group, Reggae Artist Juakali, composer Aaron Mendez, Guitarist Marek Dykta, and various other freelance work.
Blake is an in-demand session and live drummer, with both acoustic and electronic sounds on offer. He is also owner of Ad Lib Studios and, schedule permitting, can produce and record your group or project.
